Off on my hols....

Hi Peeps

Just a very quick note from me, quick because I should of gone already!!
I'm off on my holidays now for just over a week. We're off to Wales where I normally lose phone & Internet access, so I'm going to be very quiet for a little while.
We're of to climb Snowdon next week, we're hoping to see the Olympic flame at the top of it. Just hope this beautiful weather continues, although I won't mind if the sun hides behind a few clouds when we climb Snowdon as it gets awfully hot!
Anyway I'll be back before you know it, back in blog-land looking at all your gorgeous cards.

Have a great week.

Love and hugs

Berry Happy!

Well today's card comes with some very exciting news....I'm thrilled to bits, and highly honoured to say that I've joined the girls over at Aud Sentiments as a new DT member.   *TC now dancing around the room*

So today's card is my very 1st DT card...I think that deserves a toast, well yours may need to wait until after work, but hey I'm celebrating, & I've just broken up for my holiday too! ;)
For this challenge it's a nice and easy one...A project or card with any sentiment.
We're sponsored by DtsArt, they are giving the winner 2 single digital stamps.

I'm using their lovely Pari Berry Fairy. Isn't she gorgeous, I wish I had such lovely big eyes! lol.
I've coloured her with my ProMarkers, & added a bit of fairy dust (aka glitter!)
She's sat upon a gorgeous lush strawberry, one of my favourite fruits, and now I have the song Strawberry fields in my head!

The paper is what I recoloured some time ago when my mum wanted some red dotty paper. The Strawberries are Miss Mint's. The flowers are images cut out and layered. I've used Sizzix elegant texture plate for the background & the following dies - Marianne Design Creatables Ribbon Border, Joy Crafts floral flourishes and spellbinders nestabilities circles & scalloped circles.
The sentiment has been printed out from my PC.

I don't know about you, but it's got me feeling in the mood for summer, and some tasty strawberries ;)

This is going to be short & sweet, as I'm off to enjoy the last tiny bit of sun we have left for tonight!
Another leaving card, doing more of these just lately than I am doing birthday cards!

21st Birthday

A special young lady shall be turning 21 very soon, and boy has that time flown by!
This particular birthday is the whole reason how I stumbled across digi stamping. I'd been looking for quite some time for something for my Niece's 21st birthday, and when I saw Bodacious Bev from KennyK I knew my search was over. The image reminded me of my Niece, and the lil hottie she is ;) It also introduced me to the wonderful world of digi stamping.

The lovely Bev has been coloured with my Pro Markers. I've turned her into a bunny girl by adding some bunny ears, & then decoupaged her.

I'd fallen in love with cheesecloth, which I've seen on lots of your lovely cards, but I couldn't find any. So in an attempt to make my card textured I used a bit of everything...feathers, lace, paper lace organza, & angel hair, along with lots of layers. I'd also fallen in love with the hat pins that are very popular at the moment, again I couldn't find any in my local craft shop, so I thought I'd have a go at making my own. I was quite pleased with the results.

The hat pins sparkle quite nicely, along with the organza, and the bit of glitter I added to Bev's bodice & earing.

I decided to make it into an easel card. It just needs a verse now, & and a matching box.

Mum

I've been wanting to try white on white for some time, so with a few challenges requesting monochromatic this week, & then Totally Papercrafts going with 'white on white' I thought this is the week to do it!

I had an idea in my head of a window in a card, to partially display a verse, surrounded by pretty flowers. Now normally I have visions of something I want to create, & they never turn out how I want, or imagined. But for once this one pretty much turned out how I wanted it too.

Firstly I made a square card from white hammered card. I then cut a window using my nestabilities labels one die. On the bit left over I printed the following verse;

This wish for you Mother
is straight from the heart.
With more special meaning
than words can impart...
May your day hold pleasures
that you're fondest of...

And remember each day
you're thought of with love.

I then stuck this down on the inside of the card so it could be seen from the front, & then read when opened.

Some time ago I saw somebody make a beautiful flower using the Nestabilities Blossom 2 die. (unfortunately I've misplaced the source details for this) So I thought I'd give it ago. This is achieved by cutting 4 different size blossom shapes. Then cutting down the side of each inlet to form more of a petal. This allows you to shape the flower.
Curl the petals, and adhere all the layers together. I added glitter to the edges of the petals & a gem to the middle. I then finished off the flowers with the leaves from Marianne Creatables English Rose die.

I then cut a few swirls with the Sizzix Tim Holtz Elegant Flourishes die, the word Mum from the Sizzix Sizzlits Alphabet ' Girls are weird' set. And made a ribbon flower using the Marianne Creatables Ribbon flower die, and threading through some pretty iridescent ribbon.

These were all then placed around the window in the card.

I made a co-ordinating box from white hammered card, and decorated it with the Scalloped oval die from spellbinders nestabilities, a couple of flourishes using the Joy Crafts floral flourish die, Girls are Weird font again and some more glitter.

Bunny Girl Birthday Wishes

Another Male birthday card! This one is for a special 70th Birthday. I've used one of my favourite images Bodacious Bev from Kenny K. I added some bunny ears before I coloured & cut her out, so she's now a hot bunny girl.
The papers are from one of my favourite digi scrapbooking sites, Peppermint Creative. These were from the twinkle toes kit, but I've recoloured them to blue, to co-ordinate with the colours I used for Bev's basque.
Shelly's Images challenge this week was to use, or should I say not use any dies or punches...Oooo tough one I thought. How do I add elements to a card without my beloved dies?! Lol.  I sat for some time browsing my digi scrapbooking kits for elements. Finally, help came from a digi kit called colour of music by Julie Marie Designs. From this kit I used the record, stars & ticket. I added the 70 to the middle of the record, & Happy Birthday to the ticket before I cut out all these elements by hand. They've then been added with silicone glue so that they stood out on the card.

Monster Birthday

Good Evening
Well it's May already & I'm still busy on the birthday card making front. My card I'm showing today is for a special little man who will be 6 at the weekend. Wow, doesn't time fly. I've used Pollycrafts Fluffy Wabbit digi, I think he's adorable. Pollycraft's challenge this week is to make a card and a matching tag. So I got to have twice as much fun!

For the main card I used the sketch SSS97 from the sweet stop.

Fairy Tale Challenge this time around is yellow & green. The background paper I used was a rainbow effect going from Green through to turquoise. I also used this paper to Paper piece the image of fluffy wabbit for the challenge over at Delightful Challenges. My sizzix machine came out for the scallop edge & Circular shapes, as well as the embossing of the circles on the yellow strip. Which I've the distressed with a sanding block.
I've added a 6 flair & popped both this and fluffy up onto 3d foam pads.
