April Showers bring May flowers

Hello Peeps

Today's card is a birthday card for early May. I've used the lovely 'enjoy the rain' image from Saturated Canary again. I think it's so appropriate for this time of the year (well it is here at the moment in a very wet UK). I also had great fun colouring it too with my Promarkers!
Digi doodles current challenge is Pink & Brown, so that's what I've gone with, with a slight hint of green on the umbrella. I'm not too much of a pink person so I didn't want to OD on the pink too much, & with her hair being brown I didn't want to lose the umbrella in it.
Fabulous Friday challenge @ Frosted Designs is rolled paper. So out came my current favourite die, and flower cutting & rolling commenced. I've added glitter to the flowers & the rain drop for a bit of sparkle.
I thought the lovely sentiment of April Showers bring May flowers, tied in the image, flowers & the time of the year quite nicely.

I'm entering the following challenges

Digital Tuesday 157 - Winter Blues - Rain but I'm turning it into a positive! lol
Pile it on challenge - 17 - Sparkle shine - Glitter on flowers & raindrop
Aud sentiments challenge - Anything goes
Inky Impressions challenge - Anything Goes
Make it Monday - Link Party

I'm entering this into Saturated Canary too, I didn't enter it before now as I intended on doing another birthday card using a SC image. This is the dilemma, when you can only enter once. I don't mind the 1 entry rule, it's just that I love these images sooo much the likely hood of me using them more than once in the 2 week challenge period is very high! So I have to decide do I enter this one, or do I hold out for my next creation! LOL
Anyway with it being Bank holiday weekend here in the UK, I know now I won't get chance to create another card using a SC image before the closing date, so hence this one will be this challenges entry.

Panda to your needs!

Today's card is a birthday card ready for the weekend. My other half's sister's birthday. She recently visited the new Panda's at Edinburgh zoo. I knew I had some Panda images from a few years back, and amazingly I manged to track them down.I've decoupaged the circular image, & placed the others on 3D sticky pads..
The backing sheet has been printed from my pc, & then I have embossed it with one of my sizzix embossing folders. I like to print blocks of colour from the pc, because when you emboss & sand them, the white core shows through from the original paper. It needs to be good quality paper so that it can take the embossing & sanding. It shows the embossing off beautifully :)
It's been a while since my sizzix alphabet has seen the light of day too!

Enjoy the rain

So after a very wet week of camping I wanted to say thanks to my other half, both for the break and for all my lovely new wet weather gear, which did a fine job whilst we were away. When I saw the image 'Enjoy the rain' over at Saturated Canary I knew it was perfect. It's basically what I've looked like for most of the week, maybe not with such perfectly groomed hair though! lol
I've been challenge browsing, April shower's and film tittle's came up. So I have a combination of 2 films. 'Singing in the rain' & 'Carry on camping'. Both great films :)
Frosted designs fabulous Friday challenge is Hexagons. I initially rummaged through my papers for hexagon designs, and although I'm sure I have some. I couldn't find them. I've been wanting to make a different shape card, from my normal love of  square cards, so I thought hexagon card, and surprisingly it's quite easy. It's my lovely square card with all the corners cut off! I shall definitely be doing one of these again.
I've cut out extra elements and added extra dimension with foam pads. Then I've silver lined my clouds with glitter, and the rain drops on the image too.

The LO is based on Janine's sketch from sketchy challenges. I've moved my elements around a bit to fit in with the hexagon shape card.

Fairy Best wishes

Sooo many gorgeous digi stamps. I'm like a kid, in one giant worldwide sweetie store! lol. My latest purchase is Fairy Fae Dreams from Tiddly Inks. I have a friend that loves fairy's, so I wanted to do a birthday card for her with a fairy on.
I've coloured her with my ProMarkers. I've also had my 1st go at Red/Ginger hair by following a wonderful tutorial by Debs @frecklesplace. I'm really pleased how it turned out for my 1st attempt. I'm getting slightly better with this colouring lark....(slowly!). I never knew colouring was so complex! lol. I've then added glitter to her dress, wings & roses in her hair.

I've raided the dies box for this card. I've used my new sizzix frame that I had for my birthday, it's lovely but sadly not too fond of card.
I've made the flowers with the Marianne Creatables die & added beads to the middle of them
I was aiming for a shabby chic look, hence the tearing of some papers, the lace & the pearls.

For this card I have followed the sketch from Pink Gem Challenge blog.

Im back with Chester

Well after a weeks break I'm back, and craving challenges. Lol. I've missed the blog challenges. I'm also back with my cute little friend Chester from Pollycraft again. I realised on returning I needed to make a quick card for my friends birthday, if I was to get it posted in time.
I had a few spare pre-coloured Call me Chester's from the cards I made just before going away. I also had papers to hand as I was deciding between red or blue for that previous card.
A quick card was required so that means pick a sketch from the challenges. I decided to go with the sketch from sketch n stash.
I liked the layout and it also allowed me to cover a few other challenges ;)
Here's the finished result.

Easter Bunny Treat - HAPPY EASTER

I've been a busy Easter bunny. My final project for the week, and the last bit of crafting before I go off on my break, is these Easter treats. I've made several Easter treat sweet toppers for cellophane bags (They're double sided, the other side has a message on) and then filled the bags with various eggs, & attached the toppers.
The treat bags match the Easter cards and use the same digi stamp snuggles bunny from Digi stamp boutique.

I'll pop this up on the following challenges
Right, this is my last blog for a good week. We're off Camping soon (Yes, I said camping, it was lovely hot, & sunny when we booked it. Remember that, only the other week, before all the snow!) Wish me luck!, & I wish you all a VERY HAPPY EASTER. xxx

New Job - Veterinary Nurse

My final card for this week. Another leaving card. This time it's a leaving card for somebody that is going to be trained up as a veterinary nurse. An awesome job, just one I couldn't do. I don't do blood, and I'd be far too tearful. I love animals, far more than people! lol.
Chester is back, this time Poorly Chester. He would normally be on a get well card, but I thought being a little poorly critter, that he'd be perfect for a Veterinary Nurse!
I've decoupaged him, and coloured him with my ProMarkers. I coloured the red in the thermometer with a red glaze, but unfortunately you can't see it in the photo.
I followed the sketch over at Sketchy Challenge. I couldn't make my mind up on which papers to use, but this sketch gave me the opportunity to use them all!

Keep in touch, leaving card

Well, I've been a busy bee, and a busy Easter bunny! I've been finishing a couple of cards & making Easter treats. Uploading time now! Here's the first, a leaving card using my new stamp Call Me Chester. I think he's gorgeous, I totally fell for this little Critter, so splashed out on the whole set, so you'll be seeing a bit of him!
I've coloured him using my beloved ProMarkers, decoupaged him, and added some wire for his phone.
I thought he owed him self to the 'keep in touch' sentiment.

Again I've followed the sketch at Mojo Monday, I really liked this sketch. It shall be going in my favourites!

Happy Easter

Today's card is an Easter one. Using snuggles bunny from Digi stamp boutique, & coloured with my Pro Markers. I've decoupaged him, so he pops off the page. I think he's cute, & looks very content with his carrot.
I've followed the sketch from Mojo Monday, turning it on it's side, & decreasing in size, but increasing in volume the pennant to carry the word Happy & make a little banner.I've been itching to make a banner for some time. Snuggles is placed on my latest new acquisition of a paper lace doily.
